Concept driven art
Michael works in a variety of media but with a very distinctive style. A key element to his work is the “idea”. Without an idea, it’s just a pretty picture, at least one hopes. And while a pretty picture is good, a good idea is better. “If you can take a picture of it, you don’t need me.” -Valenti
Paintings
Michael’s paintings are either Acrylic paints on canvas or Watercolor paints on paper. These are one of a kind original paintings and tend to sell quickly. Pen and Ink
Every painting or digital art drawing starts with an idea sketched in pen and ink. Sometimes it’s just a little doodle, sometimes the finished work for sale. In all cases this is where the idea is formed and shared with clients, designers and publishers.
Digital Cycling Art
The vast majority of Michael’s cycling art has been done on the computer using Adobe Illustrator. Allowing endless edits Michael approaches the work in mostly flat color shapes similar to a screened print. With his distinctive drawing style, muted pallet of colors he achieves an old-school flavor to his cycling posters.
