The Rough Road 100 Midwest Spring Classic is on the Veloist CC ride schedule and this year it was awesome. A small group of us ventured onto the nine grueling crushed gravel sectors for the full length of the 100K course. Skies were moody, sun was shy, but we stayed dry and it warmed to a happy 55F! What a great ride in the midwest.
This watercolor and pen drawing of the Veloist CC rolling through Morris is on very special Arches Rough Watercolor paper of course. Only one is available.
Fast becoming the Midwest Spring Classic the Rough Road 100 in Morris, Illinois is true to its name – rough. With nine grueling crushed gravel sectors on the 100K course the racers that hit Sector One were bound to loose a bottle or two. When I got to this part of the race it looked like a garage sale of biddons!
This watercolor and pen drawing captures it all. Only one is available.
We all need a little help and it’s good to know there’s always someone there for you with a hand. That is the basic idea behind this series of “Support” paintings I did for USA Cycling. With their support cycling in the US has a future.
This is one painting in a Series of Three.
