Cyclist Body Types of the Tour de France

with No Comments

Having been a fan of cycling for many years now I’ve come to notice the odd-shaped bodies that happen when you spend a billion hours on a bike as pro riders do. So I thought it would be fun to draw a quick little picture of what I see as the three most common cyclist body types.

There is the sprinter. Most notable would be someone like Andre Greipel. Big powerful and fast.

The climber. While there are many different kinds of climbers, I went with Nairo Quintana. Small, light, nimble.

And then there is the Froome. This man is in a category all his own. With long gangly arms and cyclist legs, and elbows and knees sticking out all over the place, it’s a miracle he can stay upright let alone dominate the sport.

So that’s my take and here’s me drawing it for you. Enjoy.
